Biography

 

Comprising of selectas Basmati and Hemi Tuff, Rhythm Collision Sound present the freshest riddims and tunes from Jamaica and outernational covering styles from modern roots thru dancehall, bashment and beyond coupled with effects, samplers and delays representing the soundsystem style of reggae music

 

Rhythm Collision Sound have supported major international Jamaican reggae artists such as Luciano, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Jah Mason, Bushman and Mikey General as well as the UK’s Tippa Irie, New Zealand’s Black Seeds and many other interstate local acts

 

They have performed in The Boiler Room of 2008’s Big Day Out, Exodus 2006 Festival, the 1st Annual Sound System Summit 2006 as well as interstate at established club nights in Melbourne such as Pressure Drop. Basmati has also performed at Cairn’s Reggaetown Festival 2006/2007, 2007 Quick Silver Pro Show and the Dub Conspiracy 2005 event

 

Rhythm Collision Sound selector Basmati was first introduced to dancehall and reggae music on the Caribbean coast of Central America and the soundsystems of the streets of inner west London. Head of pacific island record label, Tuff Tumas, is co selecta Hemi Tuff originally from Port Vila completing the sound

 

Basmati is also producer and presenter of Brisbane Radio 4ZzZFM’s weekly 2-hour reggae music program “The Yard” Saturdays 3-5pm

 

Such artists as Pressure, Lutan Fyah, Luciano, Vybes Kartel, TOK, Elephant Man, Morgan Heritage, Sizzla, Lady Saw, Alaine, Movado, Anthony B, Sean Paul, Ritchie Spice, Chuck Fenda, Alborosie, Junior Kelly and Collie Buddz are favourites of Rhythm Collision Sound

 

Currently Rhythm Collision Sound run their own regular “Boom Shot” reggae dances in Brisbane, Australia
