With two highly acclaimed albums and a string of non-stop touring under their belt, Sydney’s reggae, afrobeat powerhouse The Strides will be heading to the Northern Beaches this Thursday to visit The Shore Club for a free gig!!

The band has been featured festivals around the country including Peats Ridge Festival (2010, 2009, 2008), Bellingen Global Carnival, as well as this year’s Byron Bay Reggae Festival and the Caloundra Festival, as well as recently inking a deal with European label Record Kicks.

Fronted by reggae master Ras Ron…i, from Barbados via London, and Fijian MC Ltl Gzeus (Little Jesus), The Strides live show is as explosive as it is authentic. With a unique blend of roots reggae, dance hall, hop hop and Nigerian inspired Afrobeat, The Strides’ latest release ‘Reclamation’ faithfully channels the sounds of Bob and Damian Marley, Fela Kuti, Tony Allen, Barrington Levy and The Skatalites, whilst still forging a sound that is uniquely their own.
