Sonik Waves Sega Reggae Party at The Penny Black

Come join the Sega Seggae Reggae party with Sonik Waves at The Penny Black Sunday 24th September. DJ’s to be announced soon.

Fusing traditional and contemporary rhythms from their homeland Mauritius, along with influences from Maloya, Moutia, Reggae, Zook and Calypso from surrounding islands, this music will have you hooked from the very beginning.

Accompanying these exceptional musicians are their traditional dancers who bring their dynamic, colourful and passionate culture to life with their incredible costumes and graceful flows. This is a stage show that will have you wanting more with its hot mix of global rhythms, positive vibrations and messages of peace, love and unity.

Sonik Waves have played in various festivals around Australia, promoting the music and cultures from Mauritius and the Mascareignes Islands.

Sonik Waves is also a platform that has supported famous and talented Maurtian artists. They have also expanded their wings, accompanying artists coming from different islands, such as the Seychelles, Reunion Island, Rodrigues Island, Cape Verde.

In 2012, the founders of the band, Judex Rose and Hanley Lebon, decided to create a new platform to bring island style music and International artists to Australia and use their knowledge and resources to assist emerging artists to build their careers.

Sonik Waves have acted as backing band to many artists such as:
from Mauritius: clarel armelle, Tian Corentin, Mario Armel …
from Seychelles: Jean Marc Volcy
from Reunion Island: Dominique Barret officiel

Sonik Waves also brought Cassiya legendary Sega band, legendary Komiko comedy show, Clarel Armel, Tian Corentin and Mario Armel to tour Australia.

In 2015 Sonik Waves Judex Rose single “L’amour li fou” ft Anne Sophie Paul was voted Music Video of the year in Mauritius.
