Collie Buddz’s New Album “Good Life”
Today, international reggae star Collie Buddz releases Good Life, his first full-length LP in 10 years. Good Life, premiered by The FADER and available exclusively on Apple Music + iTunes, hits all other digital platforms on May 26th.
The highly-anticipated release from the Bermuda native showcases his vocal range and signature melodies over a wide array of island rhythms, serving as the follow-up to his 2007 critically acclaimed debut album “Collie Buddz,” which remains in the top 10 on the iTunes Reggae charts to this day. Most of the album is produced by Supa Dups who is responsible for some of Buddz’s classic material (“Blind To You Haters”, “Tomorrows Another Day”,”Sensimilla”) along with several recent mega hits for Drake, (“Controlla)”and Rihanna (“Too Good”). Feature-wise, Buddz reaches across the spectrum with soulful Kat Dhalia, hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg, Bay Area staple P-Lo and Canadian-Jamaican songwriter Kreesha Turner.
Buddz says, “Good Life as an album is a reflection of my life the last 10 years. Ultimately it is about perspective, perseverance and working towards a solution. When I first started making music never did I think it would take me as far as it has, literally around the world. This album is dedicated to my loyal fans, family, friends & everyone that has been supporting my movement for over a decade.” As his first independent release, Buddz oversaw all aspects of the recording process and as a result, the album demonstrates him more comfortable and confident than ever as he explores new sonic ground.
To celebrate the release, Collie Buddz appeared on NBC’s Today Show yesterday to perform a snippet of the album. This summer, Collie Buddz will be joining Rebelution and Nahko Medicine For The People on a US nationwide summer amphitheater tour before heading out in the fall on his own headlining “Good Life European Tour”.
