Kendall Tucker, aka 14KT, 1/7 of Michigan’s mighty hip-hop group Athletic Mic League, released his debut solo LP “The Golden Hour [Soundtrack]” in 2008 after a rich history with AML. Despite being an instrumental album, The Golden Hour appeared on many year-end “top albums” lists. Okayplayer said “this is the sort of striking project that can singlehandedly create an artists following.” And so it did.

14KT has since released four more solo albums, including new release “Nickel & Dimed,” out now via Mello Music Group. Next (November 2013) comes “Saturn Return,” 14KT’s collaborative album with singer/songwriter Ab.

14KT is the last producer to have won Red Bull’s Big Tune national beat battle competition and has produced music for Aloe Blacc, Bun B, Danny Brown, Elzhi, Jay Electronica, Mayer Hawthorne, Oddisee, The Black Opera and many others. As a DJ, he’s rocked with Converse and Stones Throw at SXSW, at LA’s Low End Theory, on tour with Mayer Hawthorne, across the U.S., Canada, Australia and throughout Europe.
