Multi Dimensional songstress KATIA is an Enchantress of creativity and expression.
Weaving magic within the tapestry of words and music in the intention to Empower, Inspire and powerfully reinforce the deeper connection to the self and all things and to the joy of life, activates, elevates and motivates those in the presence of this energy.
Soulful Earth Mama vocals with a lush honey like undertone melting into a unique flavor of Soul Funk Reggae Roots Jazz Hiphop RnB World fusion, this taste is bound to stay on your lips and dance through your mind with lyrics of powerful affirmations.
With an undying passion for playing music, as well as her own projects playing solo/duo and as a band Katia has also been involved in many other musical projects.
Starting off her collaboration journey fronting 7 Piece Band WUNLUV SOUND SYSTEM , ( a unique fusion of Live D’n’B with Traditional West African Rhythms, World Electronic Beats, Afro Latin Percussion and Didgeridoo) Katia sang free style lyrics and Middle eastern style vocals and danced to the deep tribal sounds, once the band had to split she was then asked to join gold coast reggae/funk band CC The Cat singing back up vocals, also playing Saxophone and Flute and dancing, which she was a part of for 3 years, Katia was also part of the groovin’ Jazzy RnB Brisbane based band Ladi Abundance Project singing 3 piece harmonies in a 8 piece ensemble. Also singing backing vocals and playing percussion for gypsy folk/flamenco songstress Felicity Lawless (Anarchist Duck) as a duo and as part of the band.
Her love for singing and performing has taken her on to support and share the stage with many other artist such as Nattali Rize (Blue King Brown), Dallas Frasca, Grace Barbe, members of Tijuana Cartel, Dubmarine, Nicki Bomba, Paua, Isaac Chambers and Dub Princess, Naaman, Matiu Te Huki, Skankstars, 420 Sound, Saritah, ALPHAMAMA, Mystic Beats, Essie Thomas, Allensworth(USA), Andrea Soler, The Lamplights, Unity Roots, The Seven Ups, Sounds of the Sun and many more, also collaborating with incredible Dance hall Dancer Nadiah Idris (so you think you can dance) at Island Vibe festivals shows, to bring in the element of dance.
Katia loves nothing more then to share and explore the many pathways of music and entertainment creatively collaborating with many different artist and performers.
Recently exploring electronic music avenues recording with Producers such a ill gates, LubDub, The 420 sound, Elementry HiFi and Dj Pumpernickle
As a soloist/duo/band and as part of various other musical projects, Katia has played at Festivals such as
Island Vibe, Island Elements, Kuranda Roots Festival, Nimbin Mardi Grass, Green Day out, Parklife, D’alliance, Kirra Kite Festival , Earth Frequency Festival, Southern Oracle, Roots Reggae Festival, Beat Machine, Organic River festival NZ, Parihaka International Peace Festival NZ, Coro Festival NZ, Multicultural Festival VIC, Fruit and Roots festival QLD, Bush Week festival, and many more…
Now based in the northern Rivers NSW, Katia has been collaborating on different projects and is about to spend time in the studio recording with James Boundy ‘Sonic Artistry’ on the board in collaboration with a number of passionate multi instrumentalist musicians and is now ready to take the music to a next level and has her sight on performing at many different festivals, traveling and playing music all around the world and to explore the many magical paths that music flows through in order share a joyful positive vibe and express the power of music. The most potent form of healing!
