NEW AWARDS CEREMONY ANNOUNCED FOR THE MUSIC INDUSTRY – THE INAUGURAL AUSTRALIAN ROOTS MUSIC AWARDS KICKS OFF IN SEPTEMBER IN CONJUNCTION WITH NIMBIN ROOTS FEST.

There are new awards on the music scene, solely dedicated to supporting – and promoting – Australian roots music. Embracing the roots genre and the skilled musicians from its craft, the inaugural Australian Roots Music Awards (ARMA) will be held at in Nimbin this September. Designed to celebrate the finest musicians in the styles of Folk, Americana, early blues, alt country and bluegrass music.

The finalists have now been chosen for the inaugural Australian Roots Music Awards.

The finalists in the ARMA Best Album category are :

1. Tin Dog Road – Jeff Gibson
2. Violet Road – Sam Newton
3. Cold Love – The Wayward Henrys
4. Travellin’ – John ‘K’ Krsulja
5. Small Town Big Shot – Fanny Lumsden

The ARMA top five EP’s are :

1. Fading In The Light – Peasant Moon
2. No One’s Waiting Anymore – Mitch Power
3. Tori Forsyth – Blackbird
4. Troubled Man – Richo Richardson
5. Augustine – Allison Forbes

The ARMA top five songs are :

1. Monopoly Money – Tom Dockray
2. It’s Good To Know – Jeff Gibson
3. Troubled Man – Richo Richardson
4. Elijah – Jen Mize
5. Wine Wine – Rory Faithfield

The top five from each category have now gone to our esteemed industry judges, where the winner will be chosen and announced at the ARMA Gala ceremony on Sunday 18th September at the Nimbin Bush Theatre.

We are extremely proud of the healthy amount of submissions we received for our first event and believe in the future, the ARMA awards will only grow and inspire fresh, original roots music.
