Bio Slicker 1
Farai Larry Makombe popularly known as Slicker 1 or as Slicker. Added the 1 as he is the only child in his family, born and raised in a Christian family on the streets of Highfield in Harare, Zimbabwe.

Slicker attended Mbizi Primary school in Highfield, were he enrolled in music classes at an early age playing xylophone (marimba) under the direction of his teacher.

Slicker’s stage presence was recognised when he performed at his first ever Variety Show at Bradley institute high school were he scooped multiple awards & his passion for music was ignited. As a young adult he left Zimbabwe for Australia to start a new chapter.

He recorded his first song in 2013 Shingirira that took waves and shaped his reggae dancehall career

Slicker 1 has collaborated and worked with both local and international stars from South Africa, Jamaica, Australia, USA, Canada, UK, Nigeria, Kenya , South Sudan & Zimbabwe with artists namely Sean Paul, Brick n Lace , Gappy Ranks , Timaya, Dbanji , Jah Mason, Million Styles, Collie Buddz , Demarco, Elephant Man, Dizzy Dee, Maxi priest and Beenie Man.ZimDancehall and Urban Grooves artists such as Winky D, Tocky Vibes, Dj Smiley, Roki, Soul Jah Luv, Di Apprentice and Nox

BIG UP is a new concept trying, not only to get reggae dancehall music lovers together, but also trying to introduce the reggae culture in Brisbane. At BIG UP you come for the experience, culture, energy of reggae music which we guarantee will be provided by our world class selectors we have lined up for you.
