For one night at Eternal Studios on Bathurst Street, Chuby will be offering two classes:
– Foundation Dancehall
-Party Steps & viral dances.

Both classes suit all levels of dancers – from absolute beginners to advanced students.
It is a rare opportunity to learn cultural dances from a Jamaican teacher in Hobart – so don’t sleep.

$30 per class or $50 for 2.

Dancehall is a culture from the beautiful Caribbean island of Jamaica. Dancehall refers to the music genre, dance style, and environment where dances are held and where sound systems and artists perform. Known for its infectious riddims, raw creativity, iconic artists, style, and swagger – Dancehall has been emulated and embraced worldwide.

5.30pm – FOUNDATION DANCEHALL
You will learn the basics of dancehall, how to groove, flow, and express yourself through the movements. Chuby will also explain the feeling behind the movements, and educate you on the culture so you understand the moves and their roots.
This is the perfect class if you are interested in learning about culture, dance or Dancehall.

6.45pm – PARTY DANCEHALL & VIRAL DANCES
In this class, you will learn all the trending TikTok moves. Not just learn it but how to do the moves the right way. Chuby will teach you about the creators of each of these moves
In this class you will experience the dance moves the Jamaican way which is the party way (authentic).
This class will include steps, a bit of choreography and cultural background.

CHUBY DICE is one of the top dancers in Jamaica and leader of Jamaican dancehall crew Black Dice. He is a dance creator, dance teacher, choreographer, cultural ambassador, and MC.
His team Black Dice have gained much street cred and global recognition over the past few years for bringing the fire back to Jamaican Dancehall street parties with their pyrotechnic displays, and creation of popular party steps such as ‘Swing It’, ‘Move a Foot’, and ‘Tek Piece a It’.
He featured on the big screen in films including ‘Intent 2’ and ‘King of the Dancehall’ directed by Nick Cannon, and music videos for top artists including Vybz Kartel, Busta Rymes, Stylo G, Elephant Man, Shawn Storm and Australian producer Monkey Marc to name a few.
Over the past few years living in Australia Chuby Dice has broadened his skill base as a dancer to include primary school education and youth work. He is the dance teacher at Fitzroy Community School and has worked in remote communities in South Australia utilizing his dance culture to uplift the lives of young people.
