Forward Ever – A Celebration Of Sound System Culture

Way back on May 5th 2012, Adrians Wall Sound System joined Heartical Hi Powa at Basement Sessions for what was to be a historic event in Australian sound system culture, a total roadblock session & the first time two sound systems had ever set up in one arena in Australia.

“Forward Ever” returns to The Sub Club on Sat May 6th 2017 to celebrate the 5th anniversary of this momentous session, bringing Heartical Hi Powa back to Melbourne & reuniting them with Adrians Wall for this one off special show to promote sound system culture the only way we know how – with 2 big stacks of homemade speakers set up either side of the venue playing back to back all night long.

We are also hugely excited to welcome Parly B all the way from Doncaster UK who will be in the session to bless up the mic backed by dubplate champion The 4′ 20′ Sound – Byron Bay. Parly B burst onto the scene in 2012 with the soundboy killing anthem “In A Competition” produced by Tradesman & released on Mungos HiFi’s epic Scotch Bonnet Records and continues to release quality tunes alongside a variety of producers including Danny T, Riddim Tuffa, Ed West, Origin One & Mr Benn. 2016 saw the release of the Its Saucy/Mad 12” EP with Byron Bay producer & 4’20’ Sound founder Oren Selecta.

Oren Selecta & the 4’20’ Sound have been ramming out Monday nights in Byron with their residency at the Beach Hotel, Byron Bay attracting over 700 people each and every week, hosting some of the best international artists that have come to Australia including Johnny Osbourne, YT, Mad Professor, Mungos Hifi, Gappy Ranks & many many more. They have been quietly building one of Australia’s deepest dubplate boxes and at the end of 2016 took part in the first sound clash ever to happen in Byron Bay against Little Lion Sound all the way from Geneva. With a stack of productions lined up for release & heaps of shows already booked 2017 is set to be a huge year for the 4’20’ sound.
