Grindin’ is proud to present Detroit native MC GUILTY SIMPSON & Australian DJ/Producer KATALYST at The Basement on the 9th August 2014. Both signed to Stones Throw Records and highly influential in their own right in the hip hop scene world wide, Guilty Simpson and Katalyst have combined forces to create an album shrouded in mystery, yet already buzzing with global industry interest.

Due out on Stones Throw Records in 2015, there’s little doubt this collaboration from two of underground hip hop’s finest will deliver heavy beats to say the least. Previewing tracks off their yet to be released album, Guilty Simpson and Katalyst will deliver a set of substantial beats and soulful rhythms. While classics that made Guilty one of hip hop’s most respected MC’s, thanks to his poignant lyrical depth and signature hard knock life articulation, will also be served up on the night.

Supporting on the night will be two of Australia’s most impressive MC’s, Hip Hop pioneer HAU who will be launching his long awaited mixtape entitled Football Feasts and Funerals Mixtape, and emerging hip hop rapper MR CLEAN offering a mixture of head nodding future beats. Crowd favourite DJ MIKE WHO will also take to the turntables with his trademark robust dance floor ingenuity.

Collectively, this night will explore production, pushing the sonic boundaries of hip hop to another level, and leaving Sydney’s head nodding hip hop appetites thirsty for more!
