6 piece Roots and Reggae crew direct from Bundjalung country. After a huge 2019 with over 200 live shows and a string of festival headline slots Byron Bays infamous dub/roots/reggae act are hitting the road in 2020 to share a swag of new material.

A well cultivated touring phenomenon featuring the killer rhythm section of TK Dread on bass & Hugh Jones on drums. Showcasing the words & music of song-smith Jesse Morris. With live dubs from reggae legend Marky Power & multi instrumentalists Elena Marcigot & Chelsea Skyeater on sax, clarinet, flute, melodica & backing voices.

Jesse Morris & the Shakedown draw inspiration from an overflowing pot of styles with a heavy lean towards music from Africa and the Caribbean. Every show takes you on a genre-journey through soul, roots, dub, funk, dancehall, sunshine reggae and afro-jazz. Pulsating beats, lyrical mantras, hypnotic rhythms & 4 part harmonies.
