Dancehall for Change is a not for profit, community focused project developed by a team of Dancehall dancers in Australia and Jamaica. Based on the experiences and ideas of Jamaican dancers, Dancehall for Change delivers projects, provides educational opportunities, and advocates for Dancehall as a tool to create sustainable employment for Jamaican Dancehall dancers, and to initiate positive social change for their communities.
The Dancehall for Change vision is to support the sustainable and positive growth of Dancehall culture in Jamaica. To enable Dancehall to be utilised as a means to uplift communities through the arts, and break down socio-economic disadvantage and stigma for the creators of Dancehall and their broader communities.
