The countdown begins. After keeping a dance at The Mercat (aka Deep 11) every month since 2001, Chant Down will soon be saying goodbye to Melbourne’s spiritual home of reggae music, as the venue closes down permanently for redevelopment early in 2017.

For the third-last More Fire session at The Mercat, residents Jesse I and Ras Crucial will be joined by guest selectors Zare Demus (Australia Reggae Radio), Troublemekka, and A13 – plus songstress Quashani Bahd performing live.

More Fire #189 takes place on Saturday 12th November at The Mercat basement (456 Queen St, Melbourne). Doors open at 10pm, with a cover of $12 or $10 for concession holders and PBS members.
