More Fire 23rd birthday bashment

Date13/04/2024

VenueKindred Bandroom

Australia’s longest running reggae dancehall party returns to mark another milestone. Since April 2001, More Fire has been a cornerstone of the Melbourne reggae scene. After reaching the 20 year mark in 2021, hosts Chant Down Sound decided to take a step back, but they are stepping up again this April to blaze a big one for the 23rd anniversary.

Expect straight reggae and dancehall vibes, from original deep roots through to freshest sounds of present-day Jamaica, all delivered on the heavyweight Solidarity Sound System.

Chant Down’s Jesse I and Ras Crucial will be joined by guest selectors Sista Itations, Troublemekka, Long Beach, and Joe Dubs – plus special guest vocalists Shottaz and Quashani Bahd performing live.

The More Fire 23rd anniversary takes place on Saturday 13th April at Kindred Bandroom (3 Harris St, Yarraville). Doors open at 9pm. Presale tickets $20 from Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/more-fire-reggae-dancehall-23-year-celebration-tickets-810833383477 – more at the door if still available.

Chant Down recognise the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and the Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation as the traditional and rightful owners of the land on which More Fire is held. Respect where respect is due.
