Celebrate the Queen’s Baton Relay (QBR) as part of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games as it travels through Brisbane.
The QBR is a Commonwealth Games tradition that celebrates the Commonwealth’s diversity, inspires community pride and excites people about the world-class festival of sports and culture to come.
Residents will have a chance to see the baton and engage with batonbearers as they move through the city and stop in selected Brisbane streets, and celebrate together.
The Kangaroo Point community celebration event will feature live music by DJ Wade & the River City Steel Band, a free mobile rock climbing wall, jumping castles, bike valet, giant games and tasty treats from a range of food trucks on offer. Be part of the excitement when the batonbearer Helen Searle arrives on site with the Queen’s Baton at 1.59pm.
Roads will be closed in the area around the community celebration event from 1-3pm, so get there early to see the Baton arrive. NOTE – the event program may be subject to change.
