2SER 107.3 and Casula Power House present Records and Reggae, bringing the Inner West Reggae Disco Machine to Casula for the first time, with a record fair for crate diggers.
The Inner West Reggae Disco Machine is a sound system from the Inner West suburbs of Sydney, Australia. The crew, consisting of Rik Sonic, Stevie Dub and Gonz, are a bunch of reggae addicts with a passion for all things reggae from Ska and Calypso to Dancehall and Digi-killers and everything in between.
The sound system itself was inspired by Jamaican sound system culture of the 60s and the U.K. Soundsystem culture of the 80s and 90s, but most importantly the sound system was conceived by a distinct lack of a sound in Sydney.
The crew say “We like to run a dance with MCs over a natural progression of rocksteady, roots, to 80s, to dancehall and beyond. And that is exactly what you will find on this momentous day as the Inner West moves to the Great South West to perform at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre. There is homage to the past and respect to the new. We hope you to see you on the day. Bless.”
Parallel to the Sound System will a record day held within the galleries at Casula Powerhouse. On offer will be unique vinyl records, accessories, memorabilia and merchandise. Contact Peter peter@myvinylrevolution.com if you want to bring your own collection to swap or sell (a small fee applies)
The event is free, and family friendly. Bring a picnic rug, and your dancing shoes!
