DESCRIPTION:

For the very first time in Melbourne, event organisers, producers, musicians, social organisations, artists, business and general public are getting together to support, expose and promote cultural and social values offered by the rich and engaging Brazilian Culture, which is not to be defined but explored and enjoyed.

The 7th of September – Brazilian Independence Day
is not a very much-celebrated date for Brazilians who are actually well known for “celebrating anything.” The Independence Day for most Brazilians usually means a reason for a public holiday, party, family reunion and every time more, social protests against the ongoing lack of public service, corruption and mainly social inequality. The main idea of this event is to gather as much as possible positive reasons for celebrating the day enjoying the Brazilian Culture, as this is what Brazilian certainly do the best.

SARAVÁ FEST was named after all the people who have been continuously working on spreading the Brazilian culture around the world. For this reason we greet people by saying “SARAVÁ” wishing all the strength, force and energy for a greater future of our culture, artists and people involved with this rhythm. Saravá means the force that drives nature.
