SOLIDARITY SOUND GOES INTERNATIONAL
A sound system party to farewell one half of solidarity sound: Selekta Fabio will be returning to Brazil where he will continue the Solidarity Sound Sytem project. Joe Dubs will continue holding it down in Byron town, spreading roots music and building up the sound system.
But this is the last time to see the original Solidarity Sound in action and the last time to hear Selekta Fabio’s unique selection of roots music… a serious thing!
We’ll also be saying farewell to other Solidarity Sound massive, Rafa and Priscillia, who will also be returning to Brazil.
To fit the back to Brazil theme there will be a little samba warm up set at the beginning of the night.
But this will be roots and culture sound system party!
Last time we played at Double Basement it was the launch of our custom built sound system, and its the only place we have played the rig with no noise restrictions… looking forward to hearing the heavy bass lines roam free again!
This is going to be a massive night of roots, dub, steppers and dubwise music. We’ll be joined by Elementary Hi Fi out of Nimbin and on the mic the voices of I Fyah (Simon Jerrems) and Jaminglish.
Special note: the last party at this venue was a huge success but due to the actions of a few (intoxicated) individuals we almost lost the privilege of putting on another party here, so please be wise, look out for each other, respect the venue and respect the neighbours.
