Brisbane's very own Champion Sound System puts Queensland on the map - and not because other states are trying to figure out where the noise is coming from...

The original boxes for Queensland's premier sound system were custom built by Melbourne sound man Stryka D in 2007. The sound continues to grow in the Champion Sound workshop, with a second stack planned for construction by 2010.

From Aurukun to Zillmere, Champion Sound System makes sure your message gets across and the community gets what it wants! Whatever your age, gender, background or beliefs you are made welcome at our events and are guaranteed an amazing, unforgettable time!

Operated by veteran sound man and producer, Chris Jay, and featuring outstanding local acts alongside Champion Sound crew DJs, MCs and performers, we are more than just an act...we are the event!

From stage management to artist management, Champion Sound can provide all you need to make your event a success.

History of Champion Sound

Champion Sound is a youth engagement and community development organisation based around reggae music and Jamaican sound system culture.

We provide a range of community and youth engagement programs and workshops, which stimulate and educate young minds in an environment that encourages participation. The underlying theme behind all of our workshops is to help people learn about communication, working co-operatively and the need to listen to other people, ultimately gaining respect for themselves and others.

Champion Sound regularly organises and performs at youth and family orientated music events. We work with locally based individuals, businesses and organisations to positively engage with the community and young people.

Our organisation is set up to provide our services throughout Australia enabling us to take the music to the people and engage with communities, providing creative, business and networking opportunities for patrons, local performers and other stakeholders.

Champion Sound seeks to maximise the opportunities that are available to young people by forming and utilising collaborative relationships with suitable stakeholders across all levels of community, business and government.
