VenueThe Rhythm Hut
Location135 Faunce St, Gosford, NSW 2250 Australia
It’s another historical moment in The Rhythm Hut history, as we celebrate a big 3 years in our space in Faunce St. From humble beginnings (no walls and roof in some parts!), to holding music classes in drumming, didge, uke and vocal coaching, with hundreds of students each week; to supporting local music and arts with open mics, and Art Party; branching out to book launches, documentary screenings, and dance classes; raising tens of thousands of dollars for various charities; and of course holding some killer live music events with the likes of Nattali Rize (Blue King Brown), Tijuana Cartel, OKA, Wes Carr, Wild Marmalade, Melbourne Ska Orchestra and loads more!
Now it’s time for our biggest gig of the year, and we want you to help us celebrate!
Three big bands, DJs, drum circle, food and bar, chill out lounge and a few extra surprises on the night! The Hut’s birthday gig has sold out each year before the night. Make sure you get your tickets presale to avoid disappointment!
Here’s the lineup:
The Strides
The Strides are a new force for Reggae music. Fronted by roots man Ras Roni from Barbados via London, Fijian MC LTL GZeus and Sierra Leonian ragga powerhouse Blacker C, The Strides deliver a musical experience that is as powerfully explosive as it is authentic. With three acclaimed albums already under their belt, a European label signing, festival appearances across the country and having graced the stage with the likes of Third World, Julian Marley, Tony Allen and Groundation, The Strides’ music faithfully builds on the foundations of classic roots reggae with a hip-hop edge, forging a sound that brings together modern dance hall, dub beats and reggae-pop. The Strides have forged a truly global sound melding a diversity of cultures and instrumentation under the one universal consciousness.
